Show starts with some b-ball chat, a review of last weeks’ Yukon Cornelius single dropping, and a discussion of how Todd is (yet again) trying to start exercising and dieting in the New Year. We finally hit the topic list (23:30) and do a Christmas vacay recap, including 15 minutes of “chimney chat.” We introduce a new segment (53:00) called “Take it, or Leave it.” After 15 minutes of “donut talk” we do a quick mention of an anorexic dancer’s diet (62:45), and then close out the show with a memorial (71:40) to Bob Einstein (Funkhouser).
BPST Archives 2017.12.18 – “Is There a Blockbuster Around Here?”
In honor of ringing in 2019, we take you back to the end of the year ’17. This episode starts with pointless weather banter and the like, but also includes Todd leaving to tend to his daughters, at which point I freestyle rap for no reason. It’s worth a listen. I then go into a conversation about my company Christmas party (8:00) and the injuries that resulted. We switch (22:45) to a conversation about a freestyle rap by Black Thought (of the Roots). We do a brief (and depressing) crypto (34:40) update…I don’t wanna talk about it. A chat about pee positions (41:00) breaks out??? We finish with a run update (46:00).
BPST 2018.12.20 – 2018 Christmas Spectacular “‘Bipedal Locomotion’ – The Yukon Cornelius Chronicles”
Christmas Spectacular 2018: We kick off the festivities with Todd bitching about trying to fix his own garage door opener…much to the potential of his own peril. We, of course, discuss Christmas candies and treats. Then we bumble through a description of the animated/clay-mated Christmas specials (20:15) that we all know and love…kinda. And we finish the episode with our top 5 lists of Christmas songs (48:05). This is then trumped by the debut of the first of potentially many BPST originals “Bipedal Locomotion – The Yukon Cornelius Chronicles” at the very end of the pod, for which I (Scott) wrote the first verse, and Todd the second. Enjoy at your own risk!
NOTE: We do not own the rights to any of the songs heard throughout this episode…cept for that amazing Yukon Cornelius track
BPST 2018.12.14 – “There’s a lot of packaging there…”
The “Almost Christmas” show kicks off with talk of Advent Calendars and then jumps into a long discussion of “Christmas Treats,” interrupted momentarily with an update from Todd’s Christmas party. We finally move on to a debate about Christmas movies (40:30) finally answering the question of “What constitutes a Christmas movie??” We take listener e-mail (55:00) from our top e-mailer ‘SOL’ and then jump into some random convos about uppity bitches in car commercials, new car “freebies” and “negative X-rays” (57:30). Oh, and there is a small spot of Siblings Dribblings (67:00), without the intro.
BPST 2018.12.06 – “The S&M pretzels, if you will…”
The show begins with a recap about my holiday party, and tales of random texts. We then briefly discuss the passing of George HW Bush (18:30), thus starting and ending “politics talk” for the Bro Pod for 2018! After a quick Amazon complaint session, we move on to Christmas talk (38:00) with tales of Santa, Trader Joe’s cookies, and the like, and then jump into “Dentistgate” (42:00) part 2. We then actually talk about Santa (finally), with discussion of the Santa visit (61:30). We close it out with some listener e-mail (71:45) responses.
BPST 2018.11.27 – “Talk about things that jet out of your asshole…”
Show kicks off with a Thanksgiving recap, which turns into 10 minutes about laundry. After that conversation ends (12:15), we go DEEP into pizza chat. It’s amazing. We do a quick chat about Christmas decorations (33:45) and how Todd has changed it up this year. We get a bit creepy (56:45) and hear some horror stories from the youngest Hoffman child…it’s terrifying. And lastly, a new segment (69:45) “Explain Your Gram.”
BPST 2018.11.20 – “My dentist is a very handsome man…”
We spend the first 32 minutes talking about dentistry and the insane coincidence of Todd and I having an appointment on the same day. Around (27:20) we add in a conversation about gum…which lasted far too long as well. At (33:00) we switch to the in-law visit and Thanksgiving. We discuss a co-worker of mine, soon to be a grandma (34:10) and the odd choice of name for her granddaughter. Finally, after a brief Portland strip club discussion, we get to a board game chat (38:20) and why our choices are the best. We close the show talking about the meaning of Thanksgiving (62:40)…including “Pie Talk” (64:30). And, of course, we close with a couple minutes of NBA talk…cause Todd won’t allow a show to pass without some NBA chatter.
BPST 2018.11.13 – “No One Ever wants to be known as ‘Jello Balls'”
We begin the show on a sad note, talking about the death of Stan Lee, and his impact on comics, films, etc. We take a complete 180 (16:30) and talk about things that you were into when younger that you are no longer into…which bleeds into a conversation about the Billboard top200 (44:00) and popular music. Another classic segment of Sibbling Dribblings (54:30) with new opening/intro!
BPST 2018.11.07 – “Apparently Kim Kardashian tastes like chocolate”
We kick off the show with a trick-or-treating/candy recap. After talking that topic to death, I give a recap (27:40) of my Scranton/NYC trip. We jump into a Name Your Price (39:30) segment, everybody’s fave! We move to Sibling Dribblings (46:00) and start with college ball and then launch head-first into NBA chat.
BPST Archives 2017.10.01 – “Pilot”
This was the original show, back before Todd invited himself to be co-host…I was originally just planning on doing it all by myself. Still debating that decision. So I talk about my plans for the pod and a few quick topics (Mac n’ Cheetos, Micheal Phelps, etc) at the outset. Then I go to the phone where Todd calls in (18:00) and we talk about the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” season opener, and of course (46:20) we talk basketball.
