Kick off the pod with some random conversation, including a re-visit of “Free Solo.” We then jump into the food segment (17:30) with a discussion of Easter candy. Quick Tahoe (33:00) recap follows, and then we jump into the Season 2 premiere (41:10) of Barry. Todd regales us (51:20) with a “Dad joke,” followed conveniently by a long-awaited version (53:30) of “Name Your Price.” The, blah blah, basketball (74:00) blah…
BPST Archives 2017.10.15 – “Go be lampin'”
This pod was brought to you entirely from Studio B, hence the horrible audio! I start by talking shit (5:45) regarding Marc Maron’s podcast…which I clearly hate. We then discuss the “worst mundane task in life” (18:00). We then talk about a chore that we did in Todd’s yard that same day (33:45). We talk about the Apple Watch (45:35) for a bit, and then end the show rapping about other tech stuff.
BPST 2019.03.20 – “Autumn is crisp, Diet Coke is not crisp”
Pod starts with a Palmetto 200 intro, and a quick tale about Dave Chapelle. We then enter our weekly “Food and Bev” segment (12:00) as a means of introducing Coke’s new “Orange Vanilla” flavor. We dive into the upcoming March Madness (28:35) and re-discover that Todd hates college basketball. We introduce a new segment (52:15) with “Perfect Album.” Then we close it down with a deep discussion about the Girl Scouts…yes, you read that correctly.
BPST 2019.03.13 – “Are you a podcast person?”
Show kicks off with weather chat, as two old men will do…until we eventually (16:00) get to our thoughts on “Crashing,” “Barry,” “Hello Ladies,” and other HBO shows. Lengthy TV discussion over, we move on to “Name Your Price” (48:30), which of course, is basketball related…which clearly led to still more b-ball discussion. We free ourselves from the NBA chat and finish the show talking (70:10) about the NatGeo doc “Free Solo.”
BPST 2019.03.07 – “Here’s a sticker, take a hike!”
We start with a reminder to turn your damn clocks FORWARD(!!), then jump into the tragic news concerning Luke Perry and Alex “I’m smarter than you” Trebek. We then hop into the wayback machine and talk about the “Singles” soundtrack (10:30), along with the correct way to listen to record comps. We talk about a new Olympic event (48:00) that was just announced, and then segue into good ole’ SD (60:00).
BPST 2019.02.26 – “Organic Rockets out of my ass”
Illness has infiltrated the Bro Pod!!…but we’re back, and we talk about it…of course. Todd jumps into his rant about drinking water (11:00), and we also discuss the “Gallon Milk Challenge” it’s a classic. Todd poses the question (21:45) of ‘Do You Eat Chocolate Chips out of the bag?”, which turns into 20 minutes of food chat. Then we hit All-Star game wrap-up (40:00) for the rest of the show.
BPST Archives 2017.10.08 – “Nutter Bust”
In the second show EVER recorded by the bros, it starts with no intro of any kind, and hops right into talk about soda…so, some things never change! We then move from liquids to solids (11:00) with a convo about fruit snacks and real fruit. An early version of “Sibling Dribblings” starts (23:25) with ‘crazy contract chatter’ and continues into talks of WNBA, season tickets, and other crap. We close out with some HBO talk (54:30) about “Curb” and “Vice Principals.”
BPST 2019.02.12 – “Please slide into my DMs Vanna White”
Show starts with some administrative stuff that is discussed live on the air, cause…why not? I think jump into my update from Vegas (8:00). We then do our recap of the Super Bowl (14:30), both the game and the commercials. Sibling Dribblings starts accidentally (34:45) with the AD trade talk and the like. We then chat breifly about dog agility contests (67:00) as we all should.
BPST Archives 2018.02.05 – “Fly Eagles Fly”
A recap of the epic Eagles Super Bowl victory.
Todd goes on and on about the game, and that’s basically the gist of it. We talk about other stuff too, but…Eagles!!
BPST 2019.01.29 – “Robots, AI, and cotton candy grapes”
We kick the show off reminiscing about old shows that we’ve done. Like two old men (8:30) we then discuss the weather and public transportation for a bit. Vegas chat commences for a bit (19:45) in advance of my work trip there. We talk about kids and phones (26:00), spaces after sentences (27:45), pop sockets (44:00), and then Sibling Dribblings (50:15). Then a fitness update (76:00)!, and some other crap before we close out the show.
